Merrylands Vet is a well-established veterinary clinic dedicated to providing the best possible care to our patients, our clients, and our staff. We offer a wide range of services and send emergency and critical care patients to our nearby Animal Referral Hospital.
About Your Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for Locum Vet to join a dedicated and friendly team at Merrylands Vet. The ideal candidates are to work as part of our team which offers veterinary services such as internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, surgery, oncology, ophthalmology, cardiology, behaviour.
We have an established team of highly experienced vets and nurses.
Our teams have access to the following state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic equipment in our hospital facility.
- Vetscan VS2 In house Biochemistry
- Digital X-ray
- Cardiac and abdominal ultrasound facilities
- Dedicated surgical theatres
The successful applicant will be added to a list for the veterinarian/practice manager to contact for blocks of planned holiday shifts or last minute shifts.
About You
The ideal applicant will be motivated, committed to patient care, and share a vision for a specialist standard clinical outcomes, where pet owners receive personal gold standard service. This position requires sole charge management of the clinic but will be supported by two very experienced nurses who understand the direction taken by the head veterinarian. Good communications skills and an ability to work as a team are essential.
Essential Criteria
- Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science or other relevant qualification and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in NSW.

Veterinary Nurse (Locum)

Merrylands Vet currently has locum positions vacant for Veterinary Nurses to join our hard-working, close-knit team that is dedicated to the best possible patient outcomes.
The successful applicant will be added to a list for the practice manager to contact for blocks of planned holiday shifts or last minute shifts.
We’re looking for nurses who have:
- Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or higher
- Previous experience with complex emergency cases
- Own transport
- Tech-savvy with ability to learn quickly
- Ability to provide high quality patient care even in busy conditions
- Strong attention to detail with ability to multitask
- Positive attitude with a great sense of humour!
