Ultrasound

Merrylands Vet uses ultrasound equipment to assess the shape, size, composition, and position of your pet’s internal organs without surgery. This form of imaging can provide more detail about your pet’s abdominal organs such as the liver, intestines, adrenal glands, pancreas, spleen and stomach, including blood flow to these organs which may not be visible on x-rays.

At times, we will need to sedate your pet either with a tablet given prior to the hospital stay or an injection to allow for minimal interference to obtain an accurate image.

We also have the backing of a specialist ultrasonographer from Veterinary Imaging Associates.

  • They visit the clinic as needed so your pet never needs to go anywhere unfamiliar
  • They use a market leading ESOATE myLab Alpha ultrasound machine to get the best images.
  • A specialist also brings tailored advice for your pet, backed by 6 years of dedicated education in veterinary imaging, 30 years of experience in doing ultrasounds every day of their career.
